Abstract

The 128-EEA1 and the 128-EIA1 algorithms have been widely applied to the security of 4G mobile communication network, which are also applied to the upcoming 5G mobile communication network. However, the performance of 128-EEA1 and the 128-EIA1 nowadays still doesn't satisfy the requirement of high throughput application on the security of mobile communication network. In this article, we proposed a novel 22-in-1 architecture, which is based on SNOW3G algorithm, and it supports both 128-EEA1 and 128-EIA1. We firstly design an f8_f9 single module, which is implemented by Altera Stratix V series FPGA. Under the synthesization of Quartus II 13.0, the throughput of the 128-EEA1 algorithm reaches 9.36Gbps at 292.40MHz and 4.68Gbps for the 128-EIA1 algorithm. The kernel SNOW3G module reaches a throughput more than 10Gbps and takes up only 482ALMs, which is better than other design in performance and meets the demand of high performance.
