Abstract
The vector network analyzer (VNA) needs to be calibrated to eliminate the effects of systematic measurement errors before testing. The VNA's calibration accuracy mainly relies on the calibration standards, which are expressed in the form of coefficients. However, since the defects in the hardware structure or the abrasion among utilizing, these coefficients would differ from the actual, which would cause the residual errors in error terms. In this paper, a method by terminating a transmission line on the calibration standards is proposed to solve these residual errors. This method is based on the single-port OSM calibration and by utilizing the obtained residual errors, the coefficients of the calibration standards could be revised. Experiments are performed with the Keysight 85058B 1.85mm calibration kits, and the results verify the method well.
