Abstract

The paper deals with the problem of designing a bank of extended unknown input observers for fault diagnosis of a two-tank system. In particular, it is shown how to use the idea of an unknown input in order to design an observer which is sensitive to a given set of actuator/process faults and remains insensitive to a single actuator/process fault. It is also exhibited how to tackle the sensor faults. The final part of the paper presents an experimental study, which exhibits the performance of the proposed approach.
