Abstract

The paper proposes the concepts of a single valued neutrosophic linguistic set (SVNLS) and a single valued neutrosophic linguistic number (SVNLN) as a further generalization of the concepts of a linguistic variable, an intuitionistic linguistic set and an intuitionistic linguistic number (ILN). Then, we introduce the basic operational rules of SVNLNs and define a generalized distance measure between SVNLNs. Furthermore, we develop an extended TOPSIS method for a multiple attribute group decision making problem based on the SVNLNs under single valued neutrosophic linguistic environment. Finally, an illustrative example of investment alternatives and the comparative analysis are given to demonstrate the application and effectiveness of the developed approach.
