Abstract

This paper extends TOPSIS (technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution) to solve multiple attribute decision analysis (MADA) problems in the situation of belief group decision making (BGDM) where the evaluation of each decision maker (DM) is represented by the bba (basic belief assignment). In the extended TOPSIS, we combine group preferences with the pre-operation of external aggregation, the normalized Dempster's rule of combination. To differentiate from the original TOPSIS, the internal TOPSIS model, and some fuzzy TOPSIS models, we present the procedure of extended TOPSIS, mainly including the decision matrix normalization, the weights assignment, distance measures, and aggregation operators. A numerical example clearly illustrates the procedure of extended TOPSIS for BGDM.
