Abstract
SummaryThe performances of acid hard gold, palladium-nickel and a duplex layer of palladium-nickel followed by a thin gold flash were evaluated. The electrical properties and mechanical wear characteristics were determined not only when each finish was mated with itself but also when mated with each of the other two. The influence of a ductile nickel undercoat was again examined. The effects of the solution parameters of the palladium-nickel electrolyte were also studied.
