Abstract

An exploratory study to identify the risk for reproductive tract infection among women in selected areas of Pune city with a view to develop self-instructional module”. Objectives: To identify the risk for reproductive tract infection. 2. To find association between the findings with selected demographic variable. 3. To develop self-instructional module on reproductive tract infection. Material and Method: A quantitative research design used in this study. A study was conducted in selected areas of Pune city, India. Non- probability purposive sampling technique was used. Total 260 sample of married women were included in this study. Self- structure questionnaire was prepared to identify the risk for reproductive tract infection. The collected data were analyses by using descriptive, frequency and percentage statistics and logistic regression analysis. The chi-square is used to see the association between demographic variable and outcome variable of RTI. The self-instructional module was prepared on reproductive tract infection. Result: Data shown the majority of risk factor found i.e. Vaginal discharge 212(81%) followed by difficulty in micturition 128(49%) and itching over perinium 114(43%). Among 260 women 167 women are at high risk for developing the reproductive tract infection.
