Abstract

In the future, the health & medical service of Korea needs to gain ground in everyday life by combining daily life with medical treatment beyond the spatial restrictions of medical treatment centering around existing hospitals and public health care centers. Korea has been approaching an aging society at the rapid pace and the patients of chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes and hypertension are surged dramatically when the interest in health and medical is becoming escalated. As we are heading toward the era of FTA (Free Trade Agreement), the Korean government and public sectors consider that it is urgent to take actions. In order to face up to the current health and medical condition in a proactive manner, the u-Healthcare industry is growing rapidly based on the word’s best information technology infrastructure. By gathering momentum, the future health and medical service has to become a universal service as a part of everyday life through combining daily life with medical treatment beyond the spatial restrictions of medical treatment centering around existing hospitals and public health care centers. This study suggests the countermeasure applying U-Healthcare for Korean health and medical sector. The main purpose of this study is to identify the success factors of u-Healthcare and present the measures to solve future problems.
