Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to validate the K-OCEAN personality assessment scale. It focused on evaluating the reliability and validity of the scale in measuring the Big Five personality traits.
Method: The researchers conducted reliability and validity analyses, including confirmatory factor analysis and correlation analysis with a college student core competency assessment. The data for the K-OCEAN study was collected from university students across 12 schools in five regions of Korea.
Results: The results showed that the K-OCEAN had stable internal reliability, suitable construct validity, and criterion validity. The correlation analysis confirmed the validity of the K-OCEAN, supporting the concept of OCEAN personality factors and previous studies.
Conclusion: The findings have implications for effective college life adaptation and career counseling. In summary, this study provides evidence for K-OCEAN in assessing personality traits in college students.
