Abstract
Purpose - The purpose of the study is to carry out exploratory research to establish a comprehensive tourism education plan for the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province on the basis of the Activation Ordinance for Tourism Education in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. Research design, data, and methodology - The aim is to present the vision and direction of Jeju tourism education in a large framework based on various status analyses related to tourism education and the survey results of provincial residents. Based on the analysis of the status of Jeju tourism in terms of quantity, the change and prospects of Jeju tourism environment, and the survey of tourists who visit Jeju, the survey is conducted to find out what kind of tourism education is required. In addition, through a survey on tourism education to the provincial people, the improvement points of the current tourism education are derived and what tourism education is required. Result - Based on the results of the study, the vision to reflect and utilize the Activation Ordinance of Tourism Education in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is presented as follows. The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province s vision for tourism education was set as Global Tourism Jeju, emphasizing the importance of globalization above all else to induce quantitative and qualitative growth of Jeju tourism and to leap into a more advanced tourist destination internationally. The goals for non-compliance are largely presented by the tourism sector workers and ordinary citizens. Those who work in the tourism sector are presented by enhancing professionalism through the reinforcement of one capacity, raising awareness of two kindnesses, expanding opportunities for providing three education, understanding of one tourism in the case of ordinary citizens, raising awareness of two kindnesses and providing educational opportunities for three tourism common sense. Conclusion - It is proposed that the provincial government form a consultative body for tourism education to activate tourism education and enable systematic management and operate it steadily. The Provincial Council for Tourism Education ultimately proposes to play an advisory role in the designation of educational institutions that specialize in tourism education.
