Abstract

Research on various topics and contents of Japan’s ancient history have been conducted and published. While many publications have been made on Korean-Japanese relationship, there have been relatively less research on the Heian period. A notable achievement of recent research on Japan’s ancienty history is that written materials such as wooden prints from the era have been discovered in domestic sites.BR Compared to other eras, research on Japan’s medieval age has yielded less outcomes, and research on the Muromachi period has been heavily biased toward waegu . Given this, it is an urgent task to undertake research on topics other than the bilateral relationship of the Muromachi era.BR As for research on Japan’s modern history, a bias toward Korean-Japanese relationship has been especially strong compared to other eras. In particular, research has focused on tongshinsa, munwihang , and waegu. BR The most important feature of Japanese pre-modern history research is that research about Korea-Japan relations was published overwhelmingly compare with Japanese history. Rather positively it must accept as performance and features of Japanese history research. That would have to be recognized as a form of ‘The Korean form of Japanese history study’.
