Abstract
Using the associated particle method and a thin reaction target an experimental technique was developed for studying 180° scattering. This technique can be used to obtain the scattering cross section for neutrons and charged particles at extreme backward angles (165° to 180° to −165°). This technique was tested by measuring the elastic scattering cross section of 3.65 MeV neutrons from Pb at 180°.
