Abstract
By using a small flume, a series of tests were conducted on silica sands to initiate rainfall-induced-flowslides. Based on the monitoring of sliding distance, and pore pressures, excess pore pressure generation and flowslide motion were discussed. By changing the initial dry density of samples, the effect of initial void ratio on the excess pore pressure generation and the initiation of flowslides were examined.Keywordsfailurelaboratory testflowslideexcess pore pressurerainfall
