Abstract

Several kinds of test screens, which have a large mesh number similar to the wick material of heat pipes conventionally employed, were prepared to examine the influence of wick characteristics on permeability. From the experimental results, an expression of fRe (the product of friction factor and Reynolds number) correlating to the ratio of the wick thickness per single layer and the wire diameter was proposed
