Abstract

In this paper, we prepare composite materials employing carbon fiber helices as chiral inclusions and paraffin wax as the matrix material. The rotation angles, the axial ratios and the complex chirality parameters are measured by using a circular waveguide method in the 8.5 to 11.5 GHz range. A study of the influence of the frequency and the concentration of the chiral inclusions on these electromagnetic properties is reported here. Finally, the relation of the rotation angle, the axial ratio and the complex chirality parameter is analyzed.
