Abstract
The hovering characteristics of two-dimensional peripheral jet type GEM were investigated, experimentally. The study was made with the purpose of finding out an appropriate method of analysis as well as understanding the hovering characteristics.The experimental data were analyzed on the basis of dimensional analysis and as the result, some approximate expressions for hovering charactersistics in terms of properly chosen parameters were obtained. Although the agreement between the experiments and the conventional theories were not very good, the approximate expressions obtained in the present study were somewhat similar to those derived from the simple momentum theory.
