Abstract

Obese rats manifested the characteristics of insulin resistance after high.fat-diet feeding for 20 weeks.Double immunofluorescence showed that endocannabinoid receptor 1(CBIR)was greatly expressed in pancreatic β-cels.The results of immunohistochemistry and real-time quantitative PCR revealed that CBIR protein (6 002.8±855.5 vs 3 712.8±769.6,P<0.01)and mRNA(16.7 folds of control group,P<0.05)expressions in higll-fat group were higher than those of control group, suggesting a role of CB1 R in high-fat-diet induced insulin resistance.
