Abstract

Research interest in ZnO nanostructure derives from their excellent luminescent properties and availability of low cost fabricating and processing, which hold promise for the development of electronic and optoelectronic devices. In this work, the synthesis routes for zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles and nanorods, their structural, optical & electronic properties have been established. ZnO has many potential applications like sunscreens,biosensors,food additives,pigments,rubber manufacture optoelectronic, piezoelectric, spintronic devices, field effect transistors(FET)etc.ZnO nanoparticles and nanorods have been received more attention in new age material science. In this paper we discuss ZnO is useful for other semiconductor materials and their properties are different from others.
