Abstract
A new 4-state IRF model is constructed by solving the star-triangle equation. The model is a multi-state extension of Baxter's hard hexagon model and the 3-state model by the authors. This result strongly suggests that there exists a solvable hierarchy which corresponds to Gordon's generalization of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities.
