Abstract

This paper established a multi-agent evolutionary game model with three agents, namely, manufacturing enterprises of carbon fiber industry, application enterprises of carbon fiber industry, and governments, on the basis of the research on the prominent problems with carbon fiber industry in China, for instance, disconnection between the upstream and downstream of carbon fiber industrial chain, and insignificant effect of government supportive policies. The evolutionary stability strategies for the model were analyzed. It was found that there appears inverted U-shaped for collaborative innovation of both manufacturing enterprises and application enterprises with the increase of governments’ support. It was concluded that the increment value of excess earnings, the benefit distribution between carbon fiber manufacturing enterprises and application enterprises, and the patterns of government incentives are the key factors influencing the collaborative innovation which in turn is one of breakthrough paths for Chinese carbon fiber industry. Finally, a series of suggestions and measures were put forward to promote cooperation among multiple agents based on the current collaborative situation in carbon fiber industry in China.
