Abstract

Integrated with advanced information technologies, traditional power grids are evolving to Cyber Physical Power Sys-tems (CPPS). Accordingly, new simulation methods are demanded, which focuses on interactions between electrical network and in-formation network. In this paper, an event-driven simulation method for CPPS is proposed. To modeling cross-network interactions, changes of component statuses are taken as CPS events. Then, a virtual timeline is created to provide time coordination for synchronizing continuous time dynamics and discrete event dy-namics concerned. By updating and processing the event queue, the event-driven simulation of CPPS is conducted in an integrated simulation platform. Two illustrative cases are presented to demonstrate the proposed simulation method as well as validate its efficacy.
