Abstract

This article expands the previous article on the subject of Erikson's and Maslow's concepts of transcendence. It takes an evangelical Christian approach to examining the ways older adults experience spiritual growth. Ways senior adults migrate from meanings that are only physically based toward meanings that are derived from spirituality are discussed. The results of interviews with more than 100 older persons regarding spirituality and transcendence are presented.
