Abstract
A sociological survey of the ethnosocial structure of the urban population of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was conducted by the Joint Sociology Laboratory of the N. N. Miklukho-Maklai Institute of Ethnography, Academy of Sciences, USSR, and the N. A. Voznesenskii Institute of Finance and Economics in Leningrad. It was pursued in accordance with an extensive program that made possible, among other things, a study of problems of family structure among various ethnic groups in the population.
