Abstract

Abstract An ESR method for determination of serum lipase is described in principle and demonstrated in practice. A lipid soluble nitroxide is dissolved in an olive oil emulsion. When the intensity of the ESR signal of the nitroxide in the aqueous phase is monitored as a function of time after an aliquot of lipase is added a linear plot of peak height as a function of enzyme concentration is obtained.
