Abstract
Abstract In this paper, a design method for wideband absorbers based on equivalent circuit model
(ECM) is proposed. Based on the design requirements, a general ECM is established. Then, the optimized circuit parameters can be obtained by using the particle swarm optimization
(PSO) algorithm. Meanwhile, the ECM combined with PSO algorithm can also realize the electromagnetic performance evaluations. Finally, the according mapping unit topologies are designed. Among them, a superior wideband absorber is selected, which consists of two layers of FSS loaded with resistive film, a single dielectric plate, an air layer and a metal layer.
The fractional bandwidth of the absorber is 149.3% (3.09-20.36 GHz), the total thickness is
9.35 mm. The experiment results consistent well with the simulation results, verifying the universality and effectiveness of the proposed design method.
