Abstract

The static dielectric constant (permittivity) of water in the high pressure region has been investigated experimentally since 1920, and these works have been previously surveyed and summarized by the present authors [1]. The experimental data cover high pressure and high temperature regions to 20 kbar and 600°C, respectively. Based on these data, a new equation of State for the static dielectric constant of water was devised. In this paper, a new method of correlating thermophysical properties as a function of two State parameters is proposed and a new equation of State devised by this method is presented.
