Abstract

Greece since 1983 (law 1397) has developed the National Health System (NHS), which in the last years shows some serious problems with regard to its patients' satisfaction and to its big deficits. There is a pathogeny regarding the way with which the procurements are realized not only regarding the materials, the consumables but also with regard to the medical devices and the medicines. This paper presents the results of a study realized in 2009 on the way of procurement at the public hospitals of Greece, the use of new technologies for its implementation from the staff and the time required to implement them. The objective of this article is to propose a new way of procurement realization (e-procurement), which will reduce the time of realization and the acquisition cost of the needed materials, services and the medicines' too.
