Abstract
Lateral cephalograms are commonly used within orthodontics to evaluate the relationship of both the maxilla and mandible to the cranial base. A case of an enlarged sella turcica detected, as an incidental finding, on a lateral cephalogram is presented. Subsequent investigations confirmed the diagnosis of a pituitary tumour consistent with acromegaly. The aetiology and diagnosis of an abnormal radiographic appearance of sella turcica is discussed.
