Abstract

To enhance the contrast of fluoroscopy in the diagnosis of lung diseases, we use contrast agents containing high atomic number metal elements in fluoroscopy imaging. The metal atom-containing agents can be enriched in the lesion, and the fluoroscopy signal and the fluorescent signal emitted by the metal atoms due to the x-ray fluorescence effect can be detected at the same time during the fluoroscopy. We propose three schemes: pencil beam spot scanning method, cone-beam collimation method and slit scanning method to integrate the two signals and explore the feasibility and enhancement effects by Monte Carlo simulations based on GEANT4.
