Abstract

This paper considers decreasing the mean detection delay of cooperative spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks accurately and efficiently. In this paper, we improve the optimal soft combination algorithm (OC) and propose an enhanced soft combination algorithm based on nonparametric cumulative sum (CUSUM) algorithm. In the proposed algorithm, the CUSUM algorithm is used at both CR users and base station to obtain the possible maximization of positive drift of observation statistics and reduce the mean detection delay. The simulation results show that, compared to the conventional OC scheme, the improved OC scheme has less mean detection delay and the performance of softened CUSUM combination algorithm is much better.
