Abstract

Sensor network is one of the leading exploration fields recently that may be used in almost every field. The outdated LEACH routing protocol is still reflected for the various research field, but in this paper, upgraded LEACH routing protocol is presented by way of an energy-efficient cluster head selection allowing distance and energy as main factors. The existing probability function has been reformed according to the distance and energy parameters. Therefore, distance and energy parameter select the energy-efficient cluster head for communication of data. The simulation outcomes display that the selection of cluster head in modified LEACH protocol is improved compared to the existing LEACH protocol. Better cluster head selection further advances the overall performance of network along with system lifespan compared to current LEACH protocol.
