Abstract

High energy consumption of mobile terminals (MTs) restricts seriously the expansion of mobile networks business and influences the experience of mobile users. Therefore, we propose energy-aware cooperation content distribution strategy based on coalitional game theory. Every MT may join or leave to construct a coalition dynamically, when many MTs request a common content from a base station/access point (BS/AP). Then, MTs in a coalition obtain content corporately. The paper introduces an energy efficiency function to obtain energy consumption equilibrium and fair among MTs, and also constructs energy consumption model related with channel state for saving energy. The simulation results show that the strategy proposed by this paper has better energy efficiency and energy consumption equilibrium than other content distribution strategies.
