ABSTRACT:While many London-bound alien invasion narratives in 1960s film and television are commonly believed to express a cultural preoccupation with the atomic age, this serial shapes an alternative “web” of the period's anxieties—the threat to national security from foreign espionage and the challenge to attitudes about sexuality.
