Abstract

This study aims to understand the impacts of enterprise resource planning (ERP), e-business technologies, and organisational collaboration on supply chain agility. A self-administered questionnaire consisting of 37 statements was developed. The study targeted ERP users at one pharmaceutical company in Jordan. Of the 155 questionnaires circulated, 105 produced valid data for further analysis. ERP does not have significant impact on either intra- or inter-organisational collaboration, while e-business technologies do. ERP and e-business technologies integration has significant impact on both types of collaboration. Both intra- and inter-organisational collaboration have significant impact on supply chain agility. Both types of collaboration play a partial mediating role in the impact of ERP and e-business technologies integration on supply chain agility. Pharmaceutical companies should devote more effort to ensuring continuous synergy between ERP and e-business technologies to facilitate intra- and inter-organisational collaboration, which in turn would improve supply chain agility.
