Abstract

The study aims to create the awareness about external logistics service performance and develop the efficient and effective measurement scale for logistics service performance of seaport. The seaport is playing important role in nation economy and world economy. In present scenario, the competitions are increasing amongst related business. All the countries are improving themselves to overcome the competition. It is time to create and develop the perfect tool to increase their service performance. For this purpose, the researcher has selected one major port in India. The study emphasized the user‘s perceptions to measure the service performance. The users of seaport are customs house agents, steamer agents, liners and stevedore agents. Based on statement of the interview with users and port officials, the questionnaire has constructed and survey administered. The total population of study is 1064. Then, the researcher derived 287 respondents as sample for effective response. The explorative factor analysis and confirmative factor analysis used to factor identification and construct structure confirmation. The SPSS and AMOS statistical software packages utilized for the analysis. Based on the result of those statistical tools, the twenty five measurement items with five construct scale have developed in the name of SEAPORTLOGISERV. It means as seaport logistics service performance measurement scale.
