Abstract

In this paper, we derive an empirical model that matches, with a 0.99 correlation level, a one dimensional molecular communication diffusive channel impulse response with an absorbing and a reflecting boundary conditions. Under the same conditions, we also derive the fraction of absorbed molecules function. In addition to that, we use bit error rate analysis to show the significance of a reflecting boundary on the inter symbol interference, and demonstrate how a reflecting transmitter enhances the performance of the channel by increasing the molecule absorption rate for a given symbol period.
