Abstract
The two basic models of urban residential structure and growth (see Burgess 1929, and Hoyt 1939) may also be considered as models of intra-urban migration, for there exists a two-way relationship between the growth and patterns of urban residential structures and the spatial flows of intra-urban migrations. Brown and Moore (1970) argue that a change of residence within a city requires two basic decisions to be made by a migrant household; -first there is the decision to seek a new residence and second, the decision where to relocate within the urban structure. This paper concentrates on the relocation process of intraurban migrants.
