Abstract
A case report is presented of a woman with a maternal serum α-fetoprotein 17.46 multiples of the median (MOM), who was found to have an ovarian immature teratoma. It is suggested that patients who present with a maternal serum α-fetoprotein value greater than 9 multiples of the median receive a more comprehensive evaluation remembering that the α-fetoprotein in the adult can be a tumor marker.
