Abstract
An electrostatic torquemeter based on the principle of heterostatic use of a quadrant electrometer is described for measurement of magnetic film properties. Typical torque curves for vertical and horizontal permalloy films are provided as illustrations. A sensitivity of 2.8×10-4 dyne cm is easily attainable under normal laboratory set up.
