Abstract
An electrostatic beam separator for heavy recoil products is presented, which allows the measurement of 0° cross sections for evaporation residues down to about 1 mb/sr. The device also enables the measurement of angular distributions in the range 0°–12°. Some applications to the study of heavy-ion fusion are shown.
