Abstract

An enzyme electrode specific for glutamine is described. The electrode is prepared by entrapping glutaminase on a nylon net between a layer of cellophane and a Beckman 39137 or Thomas 4923-Q10 cation electrode. The electrode responds to glutamine over the concentration range l0 -1–l0 -4 M with a response time of only 1–2 min. The electrode can be used continuously for about 12 h.
