Abstract

An electrically small, two-element Yagi antenna is presented.Low-Q, folded cylindrical helix dipoles are used for the driver and the reflector element for enhanced bandwidth performance. The design is optimized, built and measured. The kr of the antenna is 0.95. The measured realized gain in the end-fire direction is found to be 6.19 dB with a 1-dB-drop-in-realized-gain bandwidth of 2.82%. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
