Abstract

A novel three-phase resonant pole inverter is put forward in the interest of high-efficiency. When the auxiliary circuit is in the working condition, soft-switching can be realized to reduce switching loss, bringing about the efficiency improvement. In particular, the current flowing through switches of the novel inverter is no more than the load current, which is a distinct advantage over other three-phase resonant pole inverters. In addition, the distinct advantage is in favor of low conduction loss of switches, enhancing the efficiency of the inverter. Modes of operation in a switching cycle are discussed in the brief. The experimental results imply that switches realize soft-switching. Besides, the efficiency of the novel inverter reaches 98.5% at rated output power of 3kW. Hence, the novel soft-switching inverter has efficiency advantage in comparison with other similar inverters.
