Abstract

In this work, an efficient artificial light-harvesting system with a two-step sequential energy transfer process was first constructed based on the polyelectrolyte material sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and AIE molecule cyano-substituted amphiphilic hydroquinone derivative (PPTA) in an aqueous solution. The energy harvested by the two fluorescent dyes EY and SR101 from the supramolecular assembly PPTA-CMC was fully used for photochemical catalysis for the dehalogenation of α-bromoacetophenone, cross dehydrogenation coupling reaction (CDC), and alkylation of C–H bonds of phenyl vinyl sulfone (PVS) and tetrahydrofuran (THF) in the aqueous medium.
