Abstract
Attempts have been made to propose stable sub assembly detection using part concatenation method considering permanent and partial stability relations between pair of parts. The stability between pair parts is considered based on surface contacts, assembly mating features and contribution of physical connectors. The proposed method helps in finding possible parallel stable subassemblies during assembly sequence generation in order to achieve economized assembly process.
