Abstract

In this paper, an efficient sparse representation algorithm for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Radar system is proposed. The proposed method converts the received data into a low-dimensional real-valued one by exploiting the characteristic of MIMO radar system. Then the DOA estimation is realized via the reweighting l 1 norm minimization algorithm. Compared with l 1 -SVD and real-valued l 1 -SVD algorithm, the proposed method provides better angle estimation performance for both uncorrelated targets and correlated targets. Simulation results verify the effectiveness and advantage of the proposed method.
