Abstract
In this letter, an efficient simplification scheme for modeling electromagnetic crosstalk of complex cable bundles above an orthogonal ground plane is proposed. Based on the image theory and wide separation assumptions, the solution of the per-unit-length inductance and capacitance matrices of the cable bundle in such an environment can analytically be obtained. A modified six-step procedure is established to define the electrical and geometrical characteristics of the reduced cable bundle model. Numerical simulations performed on a simple-cable bundle illustrate the efficiency and the advantages of the scheme.
