Abstract
Pervasive computing enables the user to connect to the network and receive any service anywhere any time. The problem of satisfying the user's request as per their requirements is a vital process. There can be many service providers providing the service with the same functionality. Providing the appropriate service as required by the user mainly consists of two steps: a discovering a set of feasible services, b selecting an appropriate service from the set of feasible services. Selecting an appropriate service is a multi-criteria decision making problem since many criteria such as availability, mobility, cost, reliability, capability, trust, and responsiveness influence the selection of the service. In this paper, an efficient service selection framework for pervasive environment is proposed adopting PROMETHEE methodology. Theoretical analysis on overhead and experimental analysis has been performed on the proposed framework. The results show that the proposed framework is efficient.
