Abstract

A green and effective treatment method of Y zeolite-based catalyst was proposed, which greatly improved the acid accessibility and diffusion performance while maintaining high acidity. Different from the traditional treatment, the shaped catalyst is subjected to only one pressured treatment to complete solid state ion exchange, binder bonding and pore expansion. The characterization results showed that the bonding of binders could protect zeolites’ structure under pressured treatment, acid accessibility and diffusion performance were improved due to dealumination. Meanwhile, the pressured environment promoted the zeolite-binder interaction and the migration of Al species from binders into zeolite framework. There is a balance between dealumination and zeolite-binder interaction under pressured treatment. NY-DPA-1 performed best with a lifetime of 84 h, which could coordinate acidity and porosity to make the alkylation reaction lifetime increased by 17 %.
