Abstract

A novel implementation of the perfectly matched layer (PML) absorber for the alternating-direction implicit finite-difference time-domain method is proposed and implemented. It is shown that, compared to the traditional PML implementation, the performance of the proposed PML is more efficient for large Courant numbers.
